What it is about
In this module you will learn the fundamentals of Technical Dynamics and apply them to mechanically multi-physically coupled systems. You will be able to analyze simple mechanical systems, linearize, discretize, and assess the dynamic behavior of systems with couplings such as electromechanical, acoustic and thermo-elastic.
What you will be able to do
- Apply analytical mechanics to simple systems
- Linearize mechanical systems and analyze them with regard to stability, vibration and transfer behavior
- Apply the basic ideas of discretization (e.g. Rayleigh-Ritz, FEM)
- Use equations of motion of simple rotor systems and assess stability/resonance
- Analyze the dynamics of multiphysically coupled systems (electrostatic, piezoelectric, electromagnetic, acoustic, thermal)
- Understand principles of discretization of multiphysical systems
- Understand selected software for solving simple multiphysical systems
