You will learn the fundamentals of compressible flow theory: from the compressible Navier–Stokes equations and thermodynamic principles through stationary flow line theory and shock relations to linear and nonlinear wave dynamics. In the end you will be able to treat stationary and unsteady gas-dynamic problems in sub- and supersonic regimes with analytical methods and to estimate simple multidimensional effects in supersonic flows.
