What it is about
You receive a practice-oriented introduction to numerical fluid dynamics (CFD). You will learn modeling of turbulent flows, numerical methods for solving the Navier–Stokes equations, boundary conditions, grid generation, as well as visualization and evaluation of simulation results and you will apply this practically with ANSYS CFX/ICEM.
What you will be able to do
- Understanding of available models and methods in flow simulation tools
- Setting up and conducting flow simulations
- Analysis and evaluation of simulation results
What the module consists of
- VorlesungIntroduction of the theoretical foundations for models, numerical methods and boundary conditions
- RechnerpraktikumPractice-oriented learning and application of the software package ANSYS CFX/ICEM
- ProjektApplication of theory and practice for independent execution and analysis of a flow simulation
Teaching method
- Vortrag/Präsentation/AnschriebIntroduction of the theoretical foundations
- BeispieleIllustration of the theory
- Online FoliensammlungProvision of teaching materials
- Anleitung im RechnerpraktikumIndependent work on provided tasks to introduce the software
- ProjektarbeitPractical application and deepening of theory and Rechnerpraktikum
