Lab Course Energy Systems for MSPE

What it is about

You work in lab experiments on various topics of energy and power plant technology, from fuel analyses through temperature measurements and gasification to process optimization and plant operation. In the end you will be able to apply measurement methods and analysis tools, assess the impact of component and parameter changes on power plant processes, and develop optimization strategies.

What you will be able to do

• Familiarity with common measurement and analysis techniques in energy and power plant technology
• Applying laboratory instruments such as elemental analyzers and ash-fusion microscopes
• Conducting and evaluating temperature and gasification experiments
• Use of computational tools for process simulation and optimization
• Operation and response to scenarios in power plant operation simulation
• Documentation and interpretation of measurement results in laboratory reports

What the module consists of

• LaborpraktikumConducting six days of experiments on fuel analysis, temperature measurement, gasification, process optimization, power plant simulation and solar-thermal measurements
