New Technologies for Nuclear Decommissioning

What it is about

In this module you will learn the fundamentals and the systematic sequence of decommissioning and dismantling nuclear facilities. The focus is on new methods and technologies (e.g., 3D mapping, robotics, precise measurement instruments, CAE/BIM) as well as practical aspects for the safe and efficient execution of deconstruction projects and the repurposing of materials and spaces.

• Plan and carry out safe, efficient decommissioning projects
• Recognize the transferability of technologies to other engineering fields

What the module consists of

• Vorlesung Vermittlung der grundlegenden Schritte, Konzepte und Technologien
• Übungen Praktische Rechen- und Flussdiagramm-Beispiele zur Visualisierung des Prozesses
• Exkursion (freiwillig) Optionale Besichtigung der frühen Stilllegungsarbeiten an Isar 1, falls möglich

• Vortragspräsentationen (Beamer, PowerPoint) strukturierte Vermittlung der Inhalte
• Videoaufnahmen von relevanten Operationen Veranschaulichung von Prozessabläufen und Einschränkungen
• Praktische Aufgaben/Flow-Charting Anwendung und Visualisierung des Rückbauprozesses
• Gastvortrag Expertise aus der Praxis (Gast: Paul Dinner)
