You will learn fundamental concepts of theoretical astrophysics, from the structure and dynamics of compact objects to stars and up to galaxies and galaxy clusters. In the end you will be able to apply physical principles (gravitation, hydrodynamics, radiative transfer, equations of state), derive simple scaling relations, and describe astrophysical examples such as white dwarfs, stellar evolution, accretion, and shock fronts.
From an earlier semester, for reference only.
