Forschungspraktikum mit biologischem Schwerpunkt

What it is about

You will work independently for about 4 weeks in a research working group with a biological focus on a current project. You plan, perform, evaluate and interpret experiments and learn a broad spectrum of field-specific methods as well as scientific work in a team.

What you will be able to do

• Problem-oriented planning and execution of scientific experiments
• Evaluation and interpretation of experimental data
• Theoretical understanding and practical application of biological methods
• Independent work in the research team
• Documentation of laboratory work in a laboratory notebook
• Scientific presentation and discussion of results (written and oral)
• Critical evaluation of results, hypothesis formation and derivation of control experiments

What the module consists of

• Forschungspraktikum (Labor)Independent handling of a project in the working group; practical laboratory work approx. 4 weeks, full-time (~30 h/week)
• Schriftliche Ausarbeitung (Protokoll)Concise presentation of the work and results (10–25 pages), submission no later than 4 weeks after the end of the laboratory time
• Präsentation (Vortrag)Lecture on the presentation and discussion of the research results (about 10 minutes)
