What it is about

You work independently on an up-to-date biochemical research project and acquire practical and theoretical knowledge of modern biochemical methods. At the end you can plan, conduct, evaluate and present experiments in a question-driven manner and integrate yourself into a research team.

What you will be able to do

• question-driven planning and execution of scientific experiments
• evaluation, interpretation and critical assessment of experimental results
• theoretical understanding and practical application of molecular biological, biochemical, protein chemical, cellular biological and structural biological methods
• independent practical work and integration into a research team
• structured documentation in a laboratory notebook and written protocol
• scientific presentation and discussion of results (written and oral)
• derivation of hypotheses and planning of further control experiments

What the module consists of

• Research internshippractical execution of an approximately 6-week independent research project (full-time)
• Laboratory notebook and protocoldocumentation of the work; submission of a concise protocol (25–50 pages)
• Presentationtalk for presentation and discussion of the research results

Teaching method

• Independent laboratory work under supervisionown execution of the research project for practical application and deepening of methods
