You will gain foundational knowledge about dangerous infectious diseases, their misuse potential and the risks of dual-use research. You will learn biology, routes of transmission and pathomechanisms of highly dangerous pathogens as well as the basics of medical defense, microbiological outbreak investigation and bioforensic methods. At the end you will be able to recognize risks, name basic procedures for prevention, detection and containment and apply what you have learned to case studies.
