Ecological Genomics

What it is about

You learn how genome-wide data are used to understand evolutionary and ecological processes in natural populations. In the end you will be able to interpret genomic patterns, classify different genomic approaches (Population, Landscape, Functional) and assess their relevance for adaptation and conservation.

• Understand the foundations and interdisciplinary framework of ecological genomics
• Explain how genomic variation reflects ecological and evolutionary processes
• Interpret genomic data in light of population genetic theory and ecological contexts
• Critically analyze scientific literature and compare methodological approaches
• Evaluate the relevance and limitations of different genomic frameworks for ecology and conservation
• Develop theory-based arguments for using genomic data in organism–environment interactions
