Current Research in Plant Cell Biology and Proposal Writing

What it is about

You will get an overview of current research topics in plant cell biology (e.g., plasmamembrane organization, biomolecular condensates, cell wall signaling) and acquire theoretical knowledge of experimental methods (microscopy, genetics, biochemistry). In the second semester portion you will, under mentorship, develop an independent research question and write a DAAD-compliant research funding proposal, which you will subsequently defend orally.

• develop a coherent research hypothesis
• design a scientifically sound research project
• incorporate feedback from a mentor into the project planning
• write a research proposal according to DAAD standards
• justify and defend the research proposal orally
