What it is about
You will learn how environmental and climate policy is evaluated from a welfare economic perspective and which instruments (e.g., taxes, subsidies, emissions trading, regulations) are available for this purpose. In the end you will be able to economically analyze political measures in terms of efficiency, distribution, temporal dimensions, transaction costs, and technological progress, and explain their practical implementation with the help of the New Political Economy.
