What it is about

You will learn modes of action, use and environmental behavior of herbicides, as well as the molecular and plant physiological foundations of their effects. In the end you will be able to distinguish herbicide classes, plan usage scenarios, assess risks and sustainability aspects, and evaluate concrete application cases taking legal and ecological aspects into account.

• Describe the molecular basis of herbicide action
• Present resistance and tolerance
• Apply legal fundamentals and principles of Integrated Plant Protection
• Plan loss-reducing measures and consider site-specific application
• Explain the fate of active substances in environmental compartments and herbicide metabolism
• Plan the use of herbicides in concrete cases and evaluate according to performance and sustainability criteria
