Forschungspraktikum Pflanzen als Holobionten

What it is about

You work experimentally in ongoing research projects to study plants as holobionts. You apply modern molecular biological methods, collect and evaluate data with advanced statistics, and learn to report and present results scientifically.

What you will be able to do

• Characterize plant-microbe communities with modern molecular biological methods
• Independently perform simple analyses of complex sequence datasets
• Perform functional characterization of fungal DNA sequences using databases (FUNguild, FUNtraits)
• Collect, evaluate and interpret data in the context of current literature independently
• Independently connect foundational knowledge with current publications
• Apply newly acquired knowledge in practical research
• Interpret complex biochemical and ecological interactions and derive applications

What the module consists of

• PraktikumExperimental participation in ongoing research; data collection and laboratory work (approx. 240 hours)
• PräsentationenRegular short presentations in lab meetings and a final presentation for results presentation and feedback
