What it is about

You work experimentally on chemical interactions between plants and insects in field and laboratory experiments (temperate and partly tropical ecosystems). In the end you will be able to plan and conduct experiments independently, chemically analyze samples (e.g. GC–MS) and statistically evaluate the data as well as write scientifically and present the results.

• Experimental design for field experiments
• Systematic data collection and sampling in the field
• Extraction and chemical analysis of samples (GC–MS) according to lab protocols
• Chemical evaluation with Chemstation
• Statistical analysis with R
• Scientific writing and contextualizing the results within the research framework
• Oral presentation of the experimental results
