What it is about

You will gain in-depth insights into molecular and cellular biological mechanisms of tumorigenesis and progression. In the end you can connect biological fundamentals with translational aspects, properly evaluate current scientific literature, and analytically approach questions of cancer research.

Written exam at the end of the second semester: 60 minutes, graded, without aids. It assesses the ability to structure, present, describe, interpret, and transfer knowledge of tumor biology to similar contexts. Additionally, there is a voluntary mid-term study achievement (oral presentation 20 min + 2-page handout) on a current scientific article; passing can improve the module grade by up to 0.3. No retake is offered for the mid-term. A previously performed mid-term achievement remains taken into account when repeating the module exam.
