Master's Thesis

What it is about

You work on your own research project at TUM or at a related research institute. You identify a scientific question, plan and conduct the project independently, evaluate the results and summarize methods and outcomes in a written master thesis. In the end you can carry out your own research, classify it, present it in writing, and present it to an expert audience.

What you will be able to do

• embed experiments/results in the scientific context
• discuss conclusions in comparison with the literature
• write a scientific text according to formal standards
• present and discuss your own results to a professional audience

What the module consists of

• Master's Thesis (schriftliche Ausarbeitung)Main achievement: documents the project, approx. 100 pages (depending on topic)
• PräsentationBeforehand: present scientific project planning; at the end: 20-minute presentation of the work

Teaching method

• Betreuung am Lehrstuhl/InstitutSelection and execution of the project in close coordination with the supervising chair/institute
• Selbstständiges wissenschaftliches ArbeitenYou conduct the research independently under the guidance of the supervisor and document the results according to scientific standards
