Blockpraktikum: Neurobiologie am isolierten Gewebe

What it is about

In this block internship you work on isolated tissue (brain slices) and learn intracellular staining, patch-clamp physiology and optical imaging. At the end you will be able to prepare in vitro specimens, conduct electrophysiological and imaging experiments, and methodically analyze the results.

What you will be able to do

• the theoretical background of neurobiology
• assess the applicability of various electrophysiological methods in isolated tissues
• apply techniques for performing electrophysiological experiments on in vitro preparations
• production of in vitro preparations
• analyze neuronal networks (e.g. single-cell recording, Optical Imaging, tracing)
• apply histological preparation techniques
• know analysis methods, statistical methods and graphical presentation of results
