What it is about

You deal with ecology, behavior, diversity and evolution of important insect groups as well as their role in natural and human-influenced ecosystems. You will learn how insects influence plants and ecosystem processes, how natural antagonists work and which basics of biological pest control arise particularly from chemical ecology.

• Assess the role of insects in ecosystems and in agriculture
• Analyze behavior, resource use and ecological interactions
• Assess the influences of diversity, evolution and global changes
• Understand the basics and principles of biological pest control
• scientifically process and interpret the results of an entomological experiment
