What it is about

In this module you will learn central concepts and methods of mammalian cell technology, in particular how synthetic biology is applied to mammalian cells. You will gain knowledge on molecular fundamentals, gene editing, genetic circuits, sensors and actuators, as well as applications in cell theranostics and regenerative medicine, and you will be able to explain and practically apply the relevant methods and concepts at the end.

• Understand fundamental processes in mammalian cells
• Understand how cellular processes can be bioengineered
• Assess opportunities for analysis and manipulation with genetically encoded components
• Understand modern methods of gene editing
• Gain insights into applications of cellular theranostics and regenerative medicine
