What it is about

You will learn the fundamental concepts and methods of solid state physics and chemistry, from ideal periodic solids over electronic band structures to surface phenomena and their importance for heterogeneous catalysis. In the end you can apply the models used, assess their applicability, and solve simple problems for ideal periodic solids yourself.
