What it is about

You work on current, problem-oriented case studies in trace analytics and develop suitable measurement strategies. You perform selected instrumental procedures practically (e.g., ELISA, microarray, GC, HPLC‑MS, Raman and IR spectroscopy), evaluate the data and present the results. In the end you can select measurement procedures, apply them, assess the results and draw conclusions about the relevance and applicability of the methods.

What you will be able to do

  • Develop suitable solution approaches for measurement tasks in trace analytics
  • Practically apply instrumental measurement procedures
  • Evaluate and discuss measurement data
  • Assess methods with regard to relevance and areas of application
  • Present results in a fachlich-wissenschaftlich manner

What the module consists of

  • PraktikumGuided experiments on selected analytical procedures; practical execution, data collection and evaluation; development of analytics strategies in case studies
  • PräsentationPresentation of the achieved results before a professional audience

Teaching method

  • Kurspraktikum (Labor)Conveyance and practice of laboratory skills; implementation of theoretical content from the lecture into practical application
  • Problemorientierte FallstudienDevelopment of analytical strategies for current questions; encourages independent work within defined deadlines
