Green Technologies - MA

What it is about

In the module Green Technologies you will deal with green technologies, i.e., construction methods in which plants are used as functional, space-forming and design elements. You will learn fundamental knowledge and practical fields (e.g., building greening, vegetation technology, green/blue-green infrastructure, building botany, urban climate/ecology) and you will be able to analyze concepts and develop your own vegetation concepts for construction tasks as well as present them textually and graphically.

What you will be able to do

• Define important terms in the field of green technologies
• Recite fundamentals of green architecture and infrastructure
• Identify and discuss the relationships between urban water management, vegetation use and urban climate
• Name the differences between ‘building’ and ‘growing’ and discuss them as hybrid concepts
• Select suitable vegetation concepts for green architectural tasks
• Apply learned knowledge at different scales for analysis and concept development
• Present analyses and concepts textually and graphically in an appropriate manner
