AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

In the module you will learn the fundamentals of dynamic heat processes and transient heat transport in one-, two- and three-dimensional systems. The methods are applied to component, building and city level, energy balances are considered and typical building physics phenomena from individual buildings to entire cities are investigated. In the end you will be able to quantitatively determine, evaluate and transfer these phenomena to other climate regions.

What you will be able to do

  • Quantitative determination of building physics phenomena (heat, moisture, energy)
  • Evaluation and characterization of relevant relationships
  • Development of adequate solutions for building physics tasks
  • Analysis of processes at the building and city level
  • Abstraction of the phenomena to other climate regions
  • Understanding of deeper principles of heat theory

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungTransmission of theoretical foundations and presentations on energy for components, buildings and cities
  • ÜbungDeepening through repetitions, calculation tasks and case studies; problem sheets with sketches and diagrams

Teaching method

  • Vorträge/Präsentationento convey the competencies related to energy for components, buildings and cities
  • Übungsaufgaben mit Rechnungento deepen theoretical and application-oriented problems
  • Skizzen und Diagramme in Aufgabenblätternto illustrate and solve word problems
  • Mitschrift, Tafel, Projektor/PowerPoint, Overhead, videoconferences, learning platformas supporting media forms for lectures and exercises
