What it is about

You engage with current research topics of the Chair of Materials and Materials Testing in Civil Engineering. In the end you can critically assess a scientific topic from Building Conservation, Restoration and Service Life Assessment, carry out practical experiments and present and explain results as well as technical relationships clearly.

What you will be able to do

• critical evaluation of scientific topics from building conservation
• carrying out practical experiments
• evaluation and presentation of experimental results
• writing a ca. 20-page scientific report
• creation and delivery of a ca. 15-minute presentation
• participation in scientific discussion in the seminar circle

What the module consists of

• Seminararbeit/BerichtDevelopment and written presentation of a given topic in a ca. 20-page report
• PräsentationOral presentation of the work in a ca. 15-minute lecture with subsequent discussion
• SeminarkreisDiscussions and feedback on the presentation and on scientific questions
• Praktische VersucheConducting and analyzing experimental work as part of the topic work
