What it is about
In this module you will learn object-oriented modeling (UML) and its implementation in C++, as well as fundamental methods of computer-aided geometric modeling. At the end you will be able to describe technical processes algorithmically and develop moderately complex object-oriented software in C++, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of different CAD modeling approaches.
What you will be able to do
- Algorithmic description and implementation of technical processes
- Development of moderately complex object-oriented software in C++
- Assessment of modeling methods for 3D objects (BReP, CSG, octree trees)
- Application of the mathematical foundations of splines and B-splines for curve representation
What the module consists of
- VorlesungConveying the necessary programming techniques and the theoretical foundations
- ÜbungAccompanying the lecture: implementation of methods in C++ and presentation/discussion of the solutions
Teaching method
- Vorlesung mit ÜbungsaufgabenExplains the methods and directly introduces programming techniques
- Programmierung in ComputerräumenEnables immediate implementation of lecture content in own programs and integration into online material
- Präsentation und Diskussion von ÜbungsaufgabenControl of learning progress and deepening through joint discussion of the solutions
- Bereitstellung von Vorlesungsunterlagen onlineSupports self-study through downloadable materials and the lecturer's handwritten additions
