What it is about

You learn concepts, planning and operational management of public transport (ÖPNV). At the end you can evaluate different transport modes, network forms and operational planning stages (timetable, vehicle deployment, driver deployment) and develop suitable strategic and operational solutions for given problems, as well as integrate ÖPNV systems into the urban transport spectrum.

What you will be able to do

• understand functional and operational characteristics of different ÖPNV transport modes
• understand functional characteristics of various network and operating forms
• evaluate application possibilities and limits of different transportation modes for urban challenges
• develop strategic and operational network forms and transport modes as solutions
• integrate ÖPNV systems into the spectrum of all urban transport modes
• understand relationships between network planning and operational planning
• conduct timetable formation, vehicle deployment and driver deployment planning for given questions
