What it is about

The module covers causes, processes and types of landslides as well as methods for investigation, monitoring and hazard assessment. By the end you will be able to classify landslides, choose appropriate investigation and monitoring procedures, create hazard and risk maps and perform simple risk analyses as well as cost-benefit considerations for protective measures.

• Analyze movement and transport mechanisms
• Select suitable investigation and monitoring techniques
• Apply hazard and zoning techniques for mapping
• Explain principles of risk assessment and management for gravity-driven natural hazards
• Perform simple risk analyses and cost-benefit optimizations for protective measures
