What it is about

You learn to use maps as a critical research and design method—not only as a technical tool. You work with existing and field-collected data as well as ethnographic insights to create multi-layered maps that illuminate urban growth processes, inequalities, and everyday experiences. In the end you will be able to graphically present and communicate analysis results.

What you will be able to do

• Use QGIS for data processing and spatial analysis
• Understand and visually represent the morphology of urban spaces
• Understand mapping as a situated, creative act in the context of design justice
• Reflect on methods with regard to sustainable ecological, social and economic development
• Convey results in presentations
