What it is about

You will learn professional practices of software development with a modern high-level language. In the module you practice object-oriented programming based on UML and design patterns, implement UML models in source code, and build interfaces (XML/JSON) as well as database connections. In the end you can work in teams with version control, unit tests, and documented code.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe principles of object-oriented programming (classes, inheritance, interfaces, relationships)
  • Sketch selected design patterns
  • Apply object-oriented principles to typical engineering problems
  • Implement concepts in a typical programming language
  • Implement interfaces with XML and JSON as well as databases
  • Illustrate approaches to exception handling
  • Implement software development in a team with version control and unit testing
