AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

In this module you will learn core methods of artificial intelligence (classical AI, machine learning, neural networks, deep learning and reinforcement learning) and their application in the traffic sector. By the end you will be able to implement AI models in Python, analyze traffic problems and develop and evaluate AI-based solutions for real tasks in traffic engineering and urban mobility.

What you will be able to do

  • Program AI solutions and tasks in Python
  • Understand differences between classical AI, ML and neural networks
  • Apply neural networks to real transport problems
  • Analyze datasets with AI methods and extract insights
  • Implement ML and DL methods for different applications
  • Use tools like PyTorch and TensorBoard for model building and evaluation
  • Know the state of the art of AI research in transportation
  • Collaborate effectively in group projects and present solutions
  • Understand AI techniques for predicting traffic patterns
  • Apply methods for traffic flow optimization and real-time traffic management
  • Understand the fundamentals of AI for autonomous vehicles (sensor fusion, perception, decision processes) and analyze challenges
