What it is about

You will get an introduction to railway operations: fundamentals of interlocking technology, train dynamics and train control, as well as organizational and technological aspects of operations. In the end you will be able to describe regulations and processes in passenger and freight transport, analyze infrastructure and components, and assess opportunities and challenges of new automation and digitalization approaches.

• Understanding of logistical processes in passenger and freight transport
• Ability to analyze infrastructure, system components and operating processes
• Assessment of technological advances and the potentials/problems of process automation
