What it is about

In this master internship you work in a team on the implementation of a larger simulation software or a subproject of it. In the end you can methodically develop a complete simulation pipeline, run simulations, evaluate them and document and present the results reproducibly.

What you will be able to do

  • Development of simulation applications and pipelines
  • Undergoing and processing all phases of the simulation pipeline (modeling to evaluation)
  • Use of application-specific, technical methods up to date
  • Teamwork: identify tasks, delegate and integrate
  • Discussion and evaluation of correctness, reproducibility and trustworthiness
  • Documentation of the procedure according to best practices
  • Presentation of results understandable for a specialist audience

What the module consists of

  • Internship/ProjectProcessing of a demanding application project structured into 4–6 subprojects in small groups
  • Presentation/DiscussionPresentation and discussion of the results of the subprojects in plenary
  • Supervision/Office hoursSupport for program development, realization of the pipeline and simulation experiments by teaching staff

Teaching method

  • Project work in small groupsTrains systematic development of simulation software through practical work on a continuous project
  • Tiered subprojectsEnable step-by-step processing and differentiated assessment of partial results
  • On-site presentations of the tasksIntroduces tasks and expected functionality for each subproject
  • Plenary discussionsEncourage critical reflection and presentation of results
