Violence: Categories and Nature of Acts in Empirical Research

What it is about

You will learn the scientific engagement with violence — from definitions and typologies to causes and consequences. The focus is on interpersonal violence (including gender-based violence and violence against children) as well as collective/political violence (state repression, civil wars, genocide). In the end you can compare central findings, reflect on methodological and ethical challenges, and prepare research results in writing.
