Seminar Future Trends in Computing

What it is about

You engage with a current research topic from Computational Science and Engineering (CSE). You independently work on a subtopic, present your results to the group, and write an accompanying seminar paper. In the end you can select scientific literature, summarize a topic, and present it both in writing and orally in an understandable way.

What you will be able to do

• Acquire knowledge on a clearly defined CSE topic independently
• Scientific writing (structure and style of papers)
• Scientific presentation (presentation structure and use of media)
• Identify and evaluate relevant professional literature
• Write a seminar paper (8–10 pages)
• Identify and discuss aspects of reproducibility
• Give and receive constructive feedback
• Strengthen discipline-specific communication skills

What the module consists of

• SeminarYou work on a single topic, present to the plenary and discuss your fellow students' presentations; partly collaboration on closely related topics
• SelbststudiumIndependent research and elaboration of the seminar paper and the presentation
