Fernerkundung - Vertiefte Methoden

What it is about

You will learn advanced remote sensing methods, in particular interferometric SAR techniques, atmospheric remote sensing, and hyperspectral techniques. In the end you will be able to apply these methods, assess their suitability for practical questions, and independently work on and present a research topic.

Understand and apply methods of signal processing in remote sensing
Assess the suitability of specific remote sensing methods for practical problems
Independently analyze research tasks in remote sensing
Develop methodological foundations for a selected research topic
Evaluate alternative approaches and develop your own solutions
Present results scientifically in a written report and/or presentation

Assessment

Written examOral examDiscussion

Presentation (10 minutes) with subsequent discussion (5 minutes) on the seminar topic and a Q&A round (15 minutes) on lecture topics and scientific questions. The overall grade is composed of 40% presentation and discussion and 60% from the Q&A. It will be assessed whether you present a scientific topic, understand methodological details, and can place the topic in the research field.
