What it is about

You will learn the basics of novel two-dimensional materials (2D materials), their physical properties, as well as common synthesis and characterization methods. You will see how these materials are used in electronics, optoelectronics and photonics and you will be able to assess their suitability and limitations for shortly realizable device components.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand the fundamentals of the material class 2D materials
  • Identify and classify important material properties
  • Know synthesis and characterization methods
  • Evaluate the suitability of 2D materials for devices
  • Assess limitations and scalability issues

What the module consists of
