What it is about

You design microfluidics components on the computer and learn to simulate flows and particle movements with COMSOL Multiphysics. By the end of the course you will be able to create CAD models for microchannels, set up multiphysics CFD simulations, and critically evaluate simulation results.

What you will be able to do

  • Design microfluidic channels with CAD
  • Carry out multiphysics simulations with CFD software
  • Analyze simulation results and assess their validity

What the module consists of

  • Praktikum / Computerübungenhands-on simulations in the lab with step-by-step guidance by the instructor (6 SWS)

Teaching method

  • Geführte LaborsitzungenStep-by-step introduction to software and simulations to convey practical skills
  • Kurzvorträge / DemonstrationenOverview of microfluidic concepts as a basis for the simulations
