What it is about

In this module you will learn the fundamentals, architecture and signal processing of modern radar systems. You will understand different modulation methods, angle estimation methods, network concepts as well as hardware aspects and simulation techniques and you will be able to analyze and evaluate these for radar and ISAC scenarios.

What you will be able to do

  • Recognize and distinguish radar modulation methods
  • Explain signal processing workflows for radar
  • Calculate and compare central parameters and limitations
  • Assess angle estimation methods and MIMO multiplexing
  • Describe basic radar network topologies and synchronization/data fusion
  • Assess the effects of hardware non-idealities on radar images
  • Name procedures and components for radar target simulation
  • Explain ISAC fundamentals with suitable mobile network standards and sensing methods

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungDelivery of content in frontal teaching
  • ÜbungInteractive processing and discussion of tasks with an instructor
