What it is about
You will learn the basics of object-oriented software development and UML as well as design-pattern-oriented design of software architectures for embedded and distributed systems. In the end you will be able to assess architecture options, apply suitable design patterns, and design architectures for resource-constrained and distributed applications.
What you will be able to do
- Explain architectures for embedded and distributed systems
- Select and apply relevant design patterns
- Consider architecture-specific requirements (hardware access, concurrency, resource management)
- Integrate methods and concepts into system design processes
- Make design decisions with justification
What the module consists of
- LectureConveying the theoretical foundations of UML, design patterns, and architecture-specific requirements
- Tutorials / ExercisesDeepening and discussion of problems and exercises for applying the lecture content
Teaching method
- Presentation (projector, whiteboard)Introduction of concepts and examples in the course
- E-Learning (Moodle)Provision of materials and support for self-study
- Exercise tasks with solutionsPractical deepening and independent practice of the content
