What it is about

You learn advanced methods of robot control, modeling and identification as well as current approaches of robot learning. In the end you will be able to model robots dynamically, design stable and adaptive controllers, and apply learning-based solutions to real robotics tasks.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand robot problems with differential geometry
  • Identify the dynamic system of a robot
  • Apply advanced control methods
  • Understand and exploit redundancy in robots
  • Design stable controllers
  • Develop biologically inspired control
  • Apply learning methods of robotics

What the module consists of

  • LectureConveying the theoretical foundations of control, modeling and learning
  • ExercisesTasks during the lecture with sample solutions for deeper understanding
  • Robothon (one-week practical project)Teamwork on real robotics problems with live demonstrations and presentations

Teaching method

  • Lecture with exercisesIntroduction and discussion of concepts; exercises are presented and discussed
  • Sample solutionsSupport self-study and solution checking
  • Robothon (hands-on project)Practical experience with real robot systems, teamwork, autonomous planning and implementation
