AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will learn the properties of wireless transmission links, model- and information rate-based considerations, and practical countermeasures. This includes inter-symbol interference and its equalization (e.g., DFE, Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding), OFDM, MIMO systems and coded modulation schemes for fading channels. In the end you will be able to calculate capacities of specific wireless channels and adapt transmitter/receiver to compensate channel effects.

What you will be able to do

  • Understanding of wave propagation and particularities of wireless channels
  • Calculation of the capacity of specific wireless channels
  • Adaptation of transmitter and receiver to compensate for channel effects
  • Knowledge of multi-antenna systems and strategies for throughput maximization
  • Familiarity with coded modulation concepts for wireless transmission
