What it is about

In this module you independently develop complex mechatronic systems with advanced components (e.g. BLDC motors, force sensors, fieldbuses) and progressively transfer product ideas into near-production prototypes. In the end you will be able to design, integrate, build and evaluate such systems as well as forecast and appropriately adjust the interactions of mechanics, electronics and software.

What you will be able to do

  • Independent development of complex mechatronic systems
  • Integration of advanced components and interfaces
  • Dimensioning and construction of near-production prototypes
  • Testing and evaluating mechatronic systems
  • Prediction of interactions between mechanics, electronics and software

What the module consists of

  • Introductory Lectures/CoursesConveying the theoretical foundations and methods
  • ExercisesDeepening and applying the material in smaller tasks
  • Online LecturesAdditional teaching content and asynchronous knowledge transfer
  • Laboratory WorkPractical development, setup and testing of the mechatronic systems

Teaching method

  • Introductory Lectures/CoursesConveying central concepts and techniques
  • ExercisesPractical application and deepening of the lecture material
  • Online LecturesFlexible knowledge transfer and complement to in-person events
  • Laboratory WorkHands-on experience in building and integrating systems
