What it is about
You learn the fundamentals of nanomechanical systems: construction of freely suspended nanostructures, their vibrational behavior in the linear and nonlinear regime, drive and detection mechanisms as well as damping and quality factor. Classical as well as quantum mechanical aspects are addressed and modern applications in sensing and quantum technologies are discussed. In the end you will critically assess developments in this field.
