AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will learn methods for highly accurate absolute position determination with GPS and Galileo. In the end you will be able to analyze, evaluate and implement methods such as Precise Point Positioning (PPP), ambiguity resolution and Kalman filter techniques in Matlab.

What you will be able to do

  • Analysis and evaluation of algorithms for highly accurate absolute position determination
  • Development of your own algorithms for Precise Point Positioning (incl. ambiguity resolution)
  • Application of numerical methods for success-rate calculation and validation
  • Handling multi-frequency linear combinations and correction models (e.g. phase wind up, Earth rotation, tides)

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungTransmission of theory and derivations; demonstrations in Matlab
  • ÜbungRegular processing of lecture material and Matlab exercises

Teaching method

  • Tafelanschriftfor derivations and sketches
  • Powerpoint-FolienSummaries of derivations; further work; available on Moodle
  • Matlab-Demonstrationen und CodebeispieleIllustration and practice of the algorithms
  • Selbststudium des Vorlesungsskripts und der FolienDeepening of the material between sessions
