System Aspects in Communications

What it is about

You will learn how the individual aspects of mobile and cellular communications (e.g., propagation, multiple access, OFDM, link adaptation, interference, protocol layers and system architecture) interact. In the end you will be able to classify these mechanisms across systems, understand dependencies between technical and commercial aspects, and build your own network simulations for mobile communications.

What you will be able to do

System-spanning understanding of mobile communication systems (e.g., LTE)
Apply and analyze modulation techniques such as OFDM
Create and extend simulation tools for mobile networks
Evaluate practical boundary conditions and interactions (cross-layer)
Recognize dependencies between technical and commercial aspects
