What it is about

You work in a team on solutions for real tasks in service robotics with the goal of developing a RoboCup@Home participation project. By the end of the course you will be able to implement algorithms for perception, learning and control, test them in simulation and on mobile robots, and apply them in realistic scenarios.

What you will be able to do

  • Implement algorithms for perception, learning and control
  • Test and evaluate algorithms in simulation and on real mobile robots
  • Apply techniques to challenging, realistic everyday scenarios
  • Organize and manage projects
  • Strengthen teamwork, communication and soft skills in group projects

What the module consists of

  • Kick-off MeetingTeam formation, assignment of groups and group leaders, coordination with supervisors
  • Hands-on TutorialsIntroduction to methods, software components and materials, building a common base of knowledge
  • Development and testing phasesImplementation of algorithms with accompanying test and validation cycles
  • Final projectRealization of an earlier competition scenario on a mobile robot with subsequent evaluation

Teaching method

  • Introductory courses with exercisesConveying fundamentals in regulation, perception and learning
  • Independent workLaboratory work in simulation and with real robots for practical implementation
  • Group workSelf-organization of teams and execution of joint development tasks
