AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You design and verify at transistor level an integrated mixed-signal circuit or small system (simple A/D or D/A converter) based on a given architecture and prior laboratory work. In the end you can transfer a system-level design into transistor-based circuit design, measure circuit function and performance, and evaluate non-ideal effects.

What you will be able to do

  • Transistor-level design of integrated mixed-signal circuits
  • Verification of circuit function and performance under real conditions
  • Transition from system- to transistor-level implementation
  • Selection and reuse of suitable circuit blocks
  • Application of specialized design software

What the module consists of

  • Praktikum/LaborSetup, implementation and verification of an A/D or D/A converter; measurement and evaluation of the circuit performance
  • Gruppenarbeit/PräsentationDeepening of the results through joint presentation and discussion
  • Dokumentation/ReportWritten elaboration of design decisions and measurement results

Teaching method

  • LaborversuchPractically oriented implementation and verification of circuits
  • GruppenarbeitCooperative handling of design and measurements
  • Softwaregestütztes Design (Matlab, Cadence)Design, simulation and verification at system- and transistor-level
