What it is about

In this lab course you will learn hands-on central methods of molecular and cellular in vitro diagnostics, e.g., hematology, flow cytometry, microfluidic systems, cell preparation and molecular biological analytics. In the end you will be able to apply the demonstrated technologies, statistically analyze data, assess clinical applications and limitations, as well as practically implement and scientifically document projects in a team.

What you will be able to do

  • Applying the technologies and methods of in vitro diagnostics discussed
  • Critically examining the data obtained with appropriate statistical methods
  • Assessing clinical application areas and limits of the treated methods
  • Designing and implementing solution strategies in team-based development work
  • Composing formally correct, reproducible scientific protocols
  • Presentation and discussion of theoretical backgrounds, protocols and results

What the module consists of

  • PraktikumGroup work on experiments, protocol documentation and practical implementation of methods

Teaching method

  • Gruppenarbeit unter Anleitungfor carrying out the experiments, promoting teamwork and practical skills
  • Protokollführungfor documenting the experiments and evaluating scientific working methods
  • Präsentationenfor presenting and discussing projects, results and methods
