Digital Sustainability Transformation of, by and for the TUM

What it is about

You investigate how sustainability and digitization influence each other and how universities — especially TUM — can shape these transformations. In the end you will be able to analyze central aspects of digital and sustainable transformation in the university context, plan and implement your own projects, and present results scientifically and publicly.

What you will be able to do

• Understand and critically discuss core manifestations of sustainable and digital transformations
• Plan and implement your own (research) project systematically
• Analyze design possibilities for transformations in the immediate environment
• Present progress and improve presentation skills
• Present results appropriately for scientific and broader audiences

What the module consists of

• Vorlesungconveys theory and practical examples of sustainability & digitization at universities; input via videos, podcasts and online discussions
• Seminar / Projektarbeitenables project-based application: development and implementation of own projects over two semesters with two project tracks (Governance at TUM or collaboration with external actors)
• Abschlusskonferenzpresentation and discussion of student projects before a public professional audience
